Apex NW Volleyball Club seeks to build their vision of developing the most competitive volleyball teams in Whatcom County and the Puget Sound Region - through uniting opportunities for athletes in our area to come together and compete. Our goal is to support Apex NW athletes in reaching their goal of playing at the middle school, high school, and collegiate levels. 

 

Job Description

Apex NW Volleyball Club is looking for experienced volleyball coaches in Whatcom County. Our program offers opportunities in learning volleyball skills and competitive play for girls and boys ages 10-18. We are looking for coaches who are passionate stewards of the sport, capable of managing a competitive volleyball team, strengths in communication, organization, and commitment, continuously growing in their knowledge of volleyball, and positive role models and representatives of our program.

 

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Coaching or teaching experience
  • Background clearance
  • Valid State of Washington Driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience playing volleyball in a competitive setting
  • At least 1-2 years of coaching or teaching experience (in any setting; classroom, camps, clinics, teams, etc)
  • Experience working with youth and families
  • CPR/First Aid certified

Commitments

Apex Competitive Teams: Coaching at Apex NW requires two 2-hour practices a week, 10-14 tournaments between the months of December and May, attendance at Apex NW events and fundraisers, and time spent furthering knowledge of the game, techniques, skill, and coaching ideologies.

 

Lil Triangles Program: Apex NW Volleyball Club is looking for volleyball coaches for our 3rd-5th grade athletes in Whatcom County with our newest Little Triangles League! This program will run for (3) one month sessions beginning in November and going through mid March. We are looking for coaches or perspective teachers who are capable of managing a group of 3rd, 4th or 5th graders growing in the sport of volleyball. These coaches should have strengths in communication, organization, commitment, are motivated to grow in their knowledge of volleyball, and will be positive role models and representatives of our program.

 

Compensation

A new Head Coach will make $19/hour and a new Assistant Coach will make $17/hour

 

Apex NW Volleyball Club will pay a "Coaching Stipend" divided over six months to accommodate the season with the hourly rate provided above. Coaches will receive an additional $65/day for per diem to cover tournament travel-related expenses. Coaches will be placed in the appropriate position (head/assistant) based on qualifications.
